Tamil Nadu: MBBS, BDS Application forms from May 9

Tamil Nadu: Director of Medical Education, R. Vimala has announced that application forms for medical and dental colleges under the single-window system for the coming academic year 2016-17, will be available from 9 May, 2016.

All the interested candidates can download the application form from the website tnhealth.org. There is no online registration process.

Cost of Application form is 500 Rs.

Last date for issue/download of applications is May 26, 2016.

Submission of Application Form is May 27, 2016

There are 3,765 seats spread across 20 government, eight self-financing colleges and one ESIC Medical College. These include 2,655 seats in government colleges and 1,010 seats in self-financing institutions. Apart from this, 398 seats are reserved for the All India Quota (AIQ) and 415 seats self-financing colleges under management quota.

The self-financing institutions will surrender 595 seats to the State government’s pool. The Employees State Insurance Corporation-run medical college will surrender 65 of its 100 seats to the government reported Hindu.

Out of this, 15 seats will be allocated to the AIQ and 85 seats to the State quota. The 17 self-financing dental colleges have a combined sanctioned strength of 1,610 seats. The colleges will together surrender 970 seats to State quota and 640 seats will be filled under management quota.

The merit list is expected to be released on June 15, 2016 and the first phase of counselling will be held in July, 2016.
