  1. Research is nothing but to know more and more about less and less…
So DM(Genetics) is appropriate as MD in basic specialities like General Medicine/Paediatrics in itself is a wast subject and DM after doing the basic speciality and having the deeper knowledge in Genetics is the need of the after to suggest better treatment/preventive measures to the suffering lot.

I fully agree with Dr Sahai. Genetics is an all pervasive course and instead of encouraging people to do it, MCI has de-recognized it.

Medical Genetics is the responsibility of MCI. It is of paramount importance for understanding genetic basis of diseases and possible solutions through genetic engineering, gene targeted medicines, Transplant medicine, Oncology, etc. Since the experts of genetics come from Biology stream the MCI should shift this speciality from MD to MSc + PhD instead of derecognising it.

Let this speciality grow rather than harping on the old MCI theme .
The Council should come out with properly structured course, curriculum and syllabus of Medical Genetics at Masters level (MSc) who could be absorbed in the Medical Institutions and big corporate hospitals.

  4. Let MCI derecognize all the courses wat is the use of doing any non clinical without job opportunity.mci has reduced the number of faculties and increased the age to 70.in addition to that msc graduates are employed to take classes for medical students what is the use of any postgraduate degree especially non clinical …
can\’t understand where medical education is going they want us to teach sympathy empathy everything but how can it be done with 250 students and only 8 faculties in which 30% will be non medical who hasn\’t even seen a case .how can the MCI equalise mbbs md degree with non medical .god can only save the profession from mci
