MCI asks Medical Colleges to prepare for Inspections, make provisions for Videography
In respect to this year's inspection of medical colleges by the apex medical regulator, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has recently issued a circular informing all the medical college authorities about the assessment preparedness for the medical admissions 2017.
As per the circular, the Council drew attention to Medical Council of India’s “Establishment of Medical College Regulations, 1999” and Opening of New or Higher Courses and Increase in Intake of the Existing Courses Regulation 2000 that provides for grant of prior permission from the Central Government on the recommendations of MCI for each applicant, after fulfillment of all relevant conditions of providing infrastructure, teaching and other facilities.
In this regard, medical colleges have been specifically asked by the Apex Medical Council to keep the following documents for relevant Academic Year ready for any of the assessments that take place in the Institute.
1. All the Standard Assessment Forms along with Annexures.
2. Declaration forms of both Faculty as well as Residents.
3. Department wise Lists of Faculty and Residents along with their Designations/Date of Joining.
The circular specifies that all the above documents should be kept ready along with Dean/Principal signatures and should be handed over to the Assessors immediately upon their arrival in the institute. College Authorities shall also make provision of one Videographers per Assessor for the purpose of recording the proceedings of the assessment.
